Also, like all generations of Focus before it, the Mk3 was – and is – a great steer, making it a real driver’s car.The Ford Focus Mk3 is perfectly-sized for most families, with a nice, wide cabin, giving excellent shoulder room, boosting the car’s comfort for its occupants. Legroom front and rear is ample, although the lower roofline does hamper headroom for taller passengers on the back bench.The boot is reasonable at 316 litres, but with all the rear seats down you’ll get 1,215 litres at your disposal. It’s not as good as a VW Golf (380 litres with rear seats up and 1,270 with rear seats down) or a Vauxhall Astra (370 litres and 1,210 litres).The Focus’s diesel-fuelled range starts off with the 1.5-litre TDCi in 95hp form. That doesn’t sound like a tremendous amount of power but its 250Nm of torque outguns all the mainstream petrol engine figures, and like all the diesels, a six-speed manual gearbox is standard.
